Animal Shelter Sets New Record for Volunteer Hours!

In 2007, Sauk County Humane Society volunteers from all over the county donated a new record of time to helping homeless pets - between 5,500 and 6,000 hours of time playing with the animals, cleaning, helping at fundraising events, and much more. The pets at the Shelter send out a big thank you!

On Saturday, January 12, the Shelter held its annual Volunteer Appreciation luncheon to honor these helpers. Over 50 people attended, enjoying a delicious luncheon, a slide show of the 1800 pets who received care at the Shelter during 2007, and musical entertainment from Baraboo’s All Star Marching Kazoo Band, directed by Karen and Greg DeSanto of Funny Bones Productions.

Interested in volunteering in 2008? Visit the Shelter at 618 Hwy 136 in Baraboo during Open Hours, or check out this website for a Volunteer Application and details about opportunities.
