Meet our Shelter's Director!

Wendy Schneider Wendy Schneider has been Director of the Sauk County Humane Society’s Shelter since early in 2005. Wendy was raised on a farm in southern Wisconsin, and came to the Shelter with a long established love of animals. Now, Wendy lives on a small farmette near Baraboo with her husband Gerry, two children, and many pets.

Wendy brought to the SCHS more than just a love of animals. Her combination of education, experience, and attitude help in operating the Shelter. Wendy has a BA in Agricultural Education from U-WI: River Falls, and has taught at both Middle and high school levels. She has worked in and managed agricultural operations around the state, and also owned and operated Animal House Pet Supplies in Sauk City.

Want to be part of this great future? Become a member; make a donation; start volunteering; tell your elected County officials that you appreciate having such a nice Shelter in the community; and tell friends and family who seek a pet to shop at the Shelter first! By doing these things, you can help us help both pets and people!
