Sauk County Humane Society Animals to Benefit from Purina’s Senior PetLover Adoption Program
Over the past decade, research has mounted about the health benefits of pet ownership – especially for seniors. Findings show that independently living seniors with pets:
- live longer,
- visit the doctor less, and
- have a greater sense of being loved and needed than those without pets.
In recognition of these facts, Purina began a program that benefits both seniors and shelter animals. During the month of October (or until SCHS has used up its allotment of $1000), seniors (60 years old or older) can take $50 off the usual adoption fee for pets at the Shelter.
The Shelter is located in West Baraboo on Hwy 136, across from the Sears Grand. Questions? Call the Shelter during Open Hours (after 12) at 356-2520.
